COMMENTO ALLE LETTURE
Una lettura un po’ superficiale dei brani scritturistici offerti oggi alla nostra riflessione e alla nostra intenzione di scoprire in essi una prospettiva di vita, può lasciarci perplessi perchè ci sembra di ritrovarci di fronte ad una proposta dettata da un tipo di spiritualità ormai superata sia negli ambienti laici sia in quelli più strettamente religiosi, una spiritualità, cioè, basata su esortazioni che riguardavano l’acquisizione delle “virtù” da praticare and among these especially humility aims to provide an 'etiquette of politeness ...
In the first reading (Sir) we find this basic plot: a recommendation-fatherly instruction: the reader is invited to take an attitude of care and openness, the attitude of a disciple, in the face of one who speaks for his father. Not only will recognize him as the rich man of experience, but will have confidence in his advice dictated by paternal care. Meekness leads to being loved (v. 17), humility opens man to the gifts of God (v. 18), placing it before God, before the greatness of His power (v. 20) because the allocates to the rightful place and makes it a witness of God and His grace.
Turning directly to the Gospel of Luke, we note first that the passage of this Sunday is part of a literary unit (Lk. 14, 1-25), which was entitled "Such friendly" and include: the story of a recovery during the meal of the Sabbath (vv. 1-6), on those two meals (our passage) and the parable of the great dinner (vv. 15-24).
Jesus uses the festive meal in the house of a Pharisee which is the subject of a thorough analysis of the Pharisees by looking critically at his actions. But, in turn, Jesus himself points out the way they behave, which is to go and take the top. This finding provides an opportunity to teach a lesson (it's the same process that we find in Luke. 21.1-4 / / Mc. 12.41 to 44 where Jesus notes how "the rich cast into the treasury of their abundance. .."), through a parable that sets out a rule of prudence is not prudent to take the lead when it comes to lunch because you risk being subject to humiliation in front of all the guests after they acted out of ambition. Apparently, then, that Jesus was a wise decision to call the book of Proverbs: "Do not give airs before the guilty do not get to the place of the great, because it is better to be told:" Come up here, "rather than be humiliated in front of a more important "(25.6-7 Pr).
Jesus in the Gospel, where he refers explicitly to TA, it does so with the 'intention to complete the Old Testament thought with "new". Ci sono due brani nel NT che possono illuminare tale “parabola”:* Fil. 2,3-11 in cui la frase centrale è l’invito ad “avere gli stessi sentimenti di Cristo Gesù... il quale… umiliò se stesso facendosi obbediente fino alla morte e a una morte di croce... Per questo Dio lo esaltò...”.La verità della parola di Gesù sull’umiliazione appare nel fatto che egli stesso ha vissuto questa parola nella sua stessa persona a convalida della sua missione e della sua predicazione: abbandonare il primo posto per prendere l’ultimo è appunto il senso della sua incarnazione.* L’altro brano è, nel Vangelo di Luca, il Magnificat ( Lc. 1:46-55) "God has looked (it is to look at) the humiliation of his servant ..."; the last two terms give the sign of the insignificance, of being poor thing, do not count. The extraordinary and unique mission entrusted by God to Mary had its origin in his humility lived with simplicity and joy, open and available to God's humility, therefore, given by the Gospel, enlightened by these New Testament references, we looks like:

E’ la possibilità di identificarsi con lo stesso Signore Gesù (che, dalla sua condizione di Figlio di Dio, si è abbassato e umiliato fino ad assumere la nostra condizione umana) per potere con Lui e in Lui giungere alla gloria della resurrezione.
E’ la possibilità di accostarci every day at the heavenly banquet with a heart completely free and available to accommodate us in the living God.
This last consideration allows us to discover a link with the second reading (Heb. 12: 18-19. 22-24). In this Epistle to the Hebrews, the author presents the Christian life as a "communion of saints" that Christians, who have the extraordinary privilege of being accepted from now in the city of God, must become aware of this reality that gives fullness to their lives. Here then, to note the importance of this condition, the contrast with the experience of the Old Testament where the approach God on Mount Sinai meant being involved in a terrible upheaval of nature, in an oppressive, that the very words of revelation did not distinguish from the material aspects of the theophany, the possibility of a relationship with God was virtually impossible because your words are incomprehensible to most. And 'this is a negative phase of the necessary purification and preparation as well (thought to fall within the theme in the Gospel) a situation of humiliation: the beginning, that is a journey.
"But ye are combined ..."( v. 22). In the Bible the word" approach "implies a religious nuance: priests to serve you draw near to God, draw near to God deals ... Our text wanted highlight the contrast with the situation in the Old Testament, does draw our attention to the plight of Christians durable: they are permanent relationship with the spiritual world and the divine. "... Thousands of angels, festal gathering ..."( v. 22). For Christians, being closely associated with the angels of God, is to participate in an intense spiritual life, in praise, adoration and contemplation of the Most High.
The approach then the banquet of the Eucharist, is the privilege granted to those in the poverty of the human condition, bringing the weight of their illness when they are still firmly in last place, feel with surprise invitation: "Friend, come up higher"; matched to the banquet table to share the feast of the saints and angels to renew the pact with the glorious Christ the new covenant.

* For this assembly, gathered today to celebrate Easter Sunday, because, full of grace received, we can return one of our brothers are willing to share our "wealth" with the poor and the forgotten.
* For our brothers who live their faith in the situation of marginalization and persecution, the Lord gives them strength to deal firmly with all the difficulties and thus be witnesses of hope in your salvation and your love.
